How to Drive More Traffic to a Website / Blog
74So at last I have created a few blogs and started posting some content to these weblogs. I was impatient for visitors to see my new blogs. But I was too naïve to expect traffic to the recently made blog posts without doing anything to drive traffic. The major search engines require a few days or even weeks to index the blog’s content and being indexed does not mean that your blog or website will be found by searchers immediately unless you have very rare (competitive) theme to discuss in the ever growing Internet community. You blog / website needs search engine optimization (SEO) which implies writing a good quality content containing a good density of keywords (the words which you want a person search in a search engine to find you blog of website at least on first three pages of the search results list) and building backlinks to your blog / website (posting to link directories, commenting in dofollow blogs related to your website niche, participating in niche related forums using links to your sites in your signature etc.)
Search engine optimization takes a lot of time and efforts. Actually this is a non-stop process especially difficult and sometimes frustrating if your website is dedicated to, say, software, computers, web design services, legal services and other topics which are dramatically common, wide spread throughout the world wide web and represented by serious businesses which have been building their reputation online for ages and which have occupied the best pages in the search engines for the best keywords most relevant to you humble newly created website or blog.
So the above described is exactly my situation for the time being. But what to do if I want people to know about my website now? How can I attract visitors to my blog? Well, this is all about traffic. I thought I should learn about how to make people visit my website without using search engines.
I began investigating possibilities to drive traffic to my blog without paying a cent. And I learned that there are specially designed websites where people mutually surf each other’s websites to boost the traffic. These are simple people who want to promote their businesses and of course some of them may be interested in your website, in what you sell, or in the services you offer, or they may find information in your website or blog interesting and will learn something you want them to learn. So such traffic driving systems are used for promotional and commercial purposes. These websites specializing in increasing your site traffic as a rule have hundreds or thousands active members. You should visit other member’s websites for at least 20 seconds or so to earn so called credits which enable your website to be rotated in the system and thus being visited by others. This can dramatically boost your website traffic and depending on your activity the number of visits to your website or blog may be as much as 120 visitors per hour. I am sure that at least 1 of 100 visitors may be attracted by your website and probably you will have a new client or a blog follower or whatever your website is designed for. I was skeptic about the efficiency of this kind of traffic boost systems but anyway I have joined three of them to experiment a little and, besides, it costs me absolutely nothing. The only thing I needed was free time to spare. Moreover they promise some money earning for participating. I have not earned any so far but I am really surprised at traffic effectiveness. I have to visit other member’s website to earn credits which enables other people visit my blogs. I have being practicing this method for already three days and the overall number of visits to my two blogs exceeds 200 and it continues to grow with every hour. It proved to be an amazing traffic boost from zero to more then two hundred within only a few days. Although my blogs are not commercial ones I am very much satisfied with the current results.

Good approach on generating traffic without spending. Some other ways to do so, and maybe establish relationships in the process, are posting links to blog entries in your social networking accounts, and in sending out articles with resources box containing links, to article directories. I'm into online promotion, so I found your hub.

I gave this a try with a blog that I built and it really increased my traffic to a hundred visits per day which is excellent.
Your post is very informative, do not forget though that submitting well written, informative articles to "Free Articles Directories" is still one of the best ways to promote a blog or website and reap the long term benefits of quality back links.
Promoting your hubs using this method of "visit-me-I-Visit-you" method is quite cool at first.
But the real deal here is conversion, you can have over a million hits, but if these hits did not result in a sale or half a sale, then it is not worth my time and effort.
I remember a certain site known as blogrush back in the day-this site was the bomb, giving you over a thousand hits in less than 24 hours. But within a short while, this site fizzled away breaking the hearts of many bloggers, who built useful back links via this site.
So if I may ask, is this another blogrush?
